Gem Silica

Gem silica is a bluish green to greenish blue variety of chalcedony often resembling the color of tropical ocean waters. Like turquoise, Gem slica receives its vivid color from the presence of copper. Other names this stone is often known as are “chrysocolla chalcedony” or “gem silica chrysocolla.”

Gem silica is the most valuable variety of chalcedony and can be more expensive than turquoise. It is rarely seen in jewelry as the stone is rare, costly, and the supply is limited.
