Gem Silica
Gem silica is a bluish green to greenish blue variety of chalcedony often resembling the color of tropical ocean waters. Like turquoise, Gem slica receives its vivid color from the presence of copper. Other names this stone is often known as are “chrysocolla chalcedony” or “gem silica chrysocolla.”
Gem silica is the most valuable variety of chalcedony and can be more expensive than turquoise. It is rarely seen in jewelry as the stone is rare, costly, and the supply is limited. It is typically found in copper-rich areas, with the most significant deposits being located in Arizona, USA, Mexico, and Peru.

This beautiful, colorful stone is called Wild Horse Jasper. It gets its name from its similarity to the spotted and dappled layers of wild horses. It is also known as Wild Horse Magnesite, alluding to its mineral composition.
The most unmistakable element of Wild Horse Jasper is its complex design. These patterns can take on different structures, like mottled spots, streaming lines, and intricate web-like designs. Each piece is totally unique, making it a favorite for jewelry and art projects.

Wild Horse Jasper was discovered in the mid-90’s near the Globe copper mine in the Gila wilderness area of southern Arizona and only comes from there. This stone was purchased from a reputable dealer.

Variscite is a beautifully colored semi-precious gemstone of many names. Once the lowly cousin to turquoise, variscite is now highly prized, and prices are climbing. Along with the large variscite stone are two genuine American turquoise. The variscite was hand collected from the Candelaria Hills in Nevada.
