Often mistaken for turquoise, variscite is a beautiful gemstone known for its shades of green, blue-green, and intricate natural patterns. I like to call it “The Cousin of Turquoise.”
Much of the variscite used in my jewelry comes from the Candelaria Hills of Nevada, where I personally collect the rough stones. Each stone is carefully stabilized when needed, then cut, shaped, and polished into a unique cabochon before being set in sterling silver.
Every piece of Water Dancer variscite jewelry is handcrafted, allowing the natural beauty and individual character of each stone to shine through. No two pieces are exactly alike.

Variscite Pendant 001
Authentic Variscite Pendant>
Natures Turquoise without the Copper.
Total Weight: 15.4 grams
Variscite is a beautifully colored semi-precious gemstone of many names. Once the lowly cousin to turquoise, variscite is now highly prized, and prices are climbing. Along with the large variscite stone are two genuine American turquoise. The variscite was hand collected from the Candelaria Hills in Nevada.
Care: Like turquoise, variscite is a porous stone and one should avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, cosmetics and heat, which can cause the color of the stone to change. This can be avoided with care and attention by cleaning your gemstone with a soft cloth and water.
